New Medicine Service

The New Medicine Service (NMS) is a confidential service and available at your local Wilsons pharmacy. To take part in this service you must live in England and have been prescribed a new medicine for one of the following conditions:

  • Asthma

  • Chronice Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

  • Type 2 Diabetes

  • High Blood Pressure

  • If you have been given a new Blood-thinning Medicine.

The pharmacist will be able to privately discuss any queries you may have regarding your new medication at the point of dispensing. After 1-2 weeks the pharmacist will contact you to see how things are going with your new medicine in order to identify if there have been problems and determine your need for further information and support. The pharmacist will then contact you again 2 weeks later to see how you are getting on. This is the end of the New Medicine Service however, our pharmacists are happy to talk to you at any time about your medicines whenever you need support and advice.
